Clay: Hey guys! This is a sponsored post by the wonderful people at Hipmunk to help keep this site afloat. 🙂
It’s not often that I’m genuinely impressed when it comes to hotels and their prices, but that’s the case for these hotels in Florence. As you know, I’m a hostel and Couchsurfing man, but these hotels stay right around $50 USD or cheaper and that’s impressive — especially for what’s offered.
Auto Park Hotel
Coming in at $49 USD per night, this 3-star hotel is near the Tribunal of Florence and the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral. It’s a medium-sized hotel, with around 113 air-conditioned rooms. If you run a blog like me, you’ll be happy to know there’s WiFi. There’s also a restaurant and a bar, so if you’re having a lazy day you don’t have to go venturing out to find something to eat.
The Valmarina is a 3-star hotel priced at $50 USD per night. People who have stayed at the hotel often say that the Internet is poor, but the location and the building itself are great — which is what really counts at the end of the day. You’ll be close to Parco del Neto, which is a popular park, and the Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista, which is an amazing modern church. Inside the hotel, you’ll find a bar, and they’ll allow you to bring your pets.
Similarly priced to the two hotels above at $48 USD per night, Hotel Mirage is a bit of a steal because it is a 4-star hotel. If you stay here, you’ll be close to The Garden of Archimedes and Cascine Park. Each room comes with its own private balcony and, as a heads up, the bathrooms come with bidets. This is a family oriented hotel that comes with child care and allows pets. It also has an airport shuttle, handicap accessibility, and a restaurant.
The least expensive hotel on the list, Hotel Albatros is only $37 USD per night. The 3-star hotel is close to the airport as well as Gigli Shopping Center, so it is perfect if you want to get your shopping on. There’s also the Multiplex Novoli nearby, which is a cinema. The hotel has a complimentary continental breakfast included as well as a bar.
Hotel Real is $54 USD per night and has 3 stars. This is near Hotel Mirage so you’ll also be close to The Garden of Archimedes and Cascine Park. You’ll be able to bring your little furry friends along, grab a free breakfast, and enjoy some drinks at the bar. The staff here is multilingual. The best thing about this hotel is the location, but previous guests have said the rooms, especially the bathrooms, were dirty upon arrival, so if you stay there hopefully that isn’t the case for you!
Overall these hotels are decently priced and will hopefully make your stay enjoyable if you decide that hostels and Couchsurfing aren’t for you. The bottom line is that your best bet is going to be staying at Hotel Mirage, unless you want to maximize your budget and take the cheaper route at Hotel Albatros instead. I’ve noticed that a lot of these hotels come with bars, so if you’re interested, here’s a fun write up on cool hotel bars.
